Department of Sociology           

            The department of Sociology was established in June 1971 under the headship of late shri V.G.Vibhute. He retired in 1991. Since then, Dr.V.D.Jadhav is working as Head of Department. Shri Naresh Paralikar, Narayan Shinde,B.V.Munde, Smt. Ashwini Gharat, Dr. G.B.Mane worked as faculty members of the department.

            Along with the teaching, the department is active in research and extension activities. Head of the department Dr.V.D.Jadhav has completed Ph.D. and published research papers in reputed journals. He has successfully completed one “Minor Research Project” with the help of UGC. The Department organized UGC Sponsored State Level Seminar on “Lack of Social control and Rising rate of crime” on 12-13 January 2009. The department also published Souvenir on this occasion. Dr.V.D.Jadhav is recognized as P.G.Teacher by the University.

            The Department is also actively involved in social activities. Dr.V.D.Jadhav has worked as NSS Coordinator of the college.

1. Dr. Jadhav V. D. Completed  M.Phil. on “Womens Education In Rural Area” in 1981& Ph.D. on “Samajik Vikas Prakriyatil Bhadarpur Gram - A case Study Special Reference –Bhadarpur Gram in Beed District” in 2011
2. The Department has planed a minor research project on   “Womens Roll In Rural Development

Department was organized Two Days State Level Seminar on “ Lack Of Social Control & Rising Rate Of Crime ” on 12-13/01/2009 with the help of U.G.C.
