Department of Marathi        

       The Department was established in June 1971 under the headship of Dr. Nagnath Kottapalle, a renowned writer and critic of Marathi language and literature. He later worked as Professor in Dr.B.A.M.U.Aurangabad and Head, Dept. of Marathi in Pune University, Pune.He also worked as Vice- Chancellor of Dr.B.A.M.U.Aurangabad. Shri Eknath Abuj was another faculty member and Head of the Department whose articles and Books are published. He is awarded with many prizes regarding Marathi writing.

       Presently, Shri Vasant Gaikwad is the Head of Department. The Department has organized lectures of many renowned creative writers and literary masters like G.D.Madgulkar, D.M.Mirasdar, Ramdas Futane, U.M.Pathan, Dr.Gangadhar Pantawane, Vsant Bapat, F.M.Shinde, Bhaskar Chandanshiv for the students.The Department organized UGC Sponsored State Level Seminar on “ Marathi Bhashechi Durawshtha : Karne wa Upay” on 23-24 December 2008.  A book of research articles is also published by the department on this occasion. Wall Poster “Shabduli” is regularly published by the Department.
